"Please set up the ps3 to send the data first" then on my cfw it says please make sure the cord is connect or the other ps3 is turned on. But there both turned on and the yellow lights on the back where the internet cable plugs in are yellow indicating there connected. What am i doing wrong.?

Yeah try that,Coz u cant have the data cord in one ps3 that is turned on then u think mm i might data transfer so u leave that ps3 on then hook up the other ps3 9 times out of 10 it will not work like that, U need both of them off then hook up.cheers m8 and good luck

well to late now, but im was gonna say your wifi might have been on.

always use to have this problem, all i did to resolve is get both ps3s set up and on the data transfer menu so all u have to do is press x on both controllers, then press x on the first controller then quickly press x on the second controller, the error seemed to show when i was to slow on pressing the controllers, i hope that makes sense

Try turn your ur internet settings off it might help & you Should anyway just to be on safe side Sony Are sneeky fukers lol
