As long as your logic board is still good then you will still be able to play game backups and movies stored on HDD/External HDD with your console jailbroken again.

Unless you want to send it to someone who offers the service to flash your console for you but jailbreaking it will be the only way that you will be able to play games/movies on your console again until you fix your bluray drive.

To play games you have two options a either fix/replace the BD or JB, if you don't want to buy the flasher and take apart your PS3 I have a downgrade service if your interested check my signature.
