go to root of usb put folder call USB then double click USB folder put a folder called UPDATE put the file you want in the UPDATE folder but rename the file PS3UPDAT.BIN (NO "E" ON UPDAT)

Don't post stuff if you're not 100% sure.
It's
PS3/UPDATE/PS3PDAT.PUP
Not
[s]USB/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP[/s]

I’m too L33T
I believe he his doing the USB folder structure correctly, since he is not complaining that the PS3 is saying that the update could not be found. He his getting corrupted on every ps3updat.pup he throws at the ps3.

I'm assuming he is having some type of hardware issue or he is on a higher firmware and trying to install a lower firmware.

You need to do the following if you haven't already.

- Format Flash Drive to FAT32
- Create Folder on root of flash drive and rename to " PS3 "
- Create a Folder inside the " PS3 " and rename it " UPDATE "
- Rename your Firmware file (whatever it may be) to " PS3UPDAT.PUP " <---- Notice no " E " on UPDAT
- Now place the renamed firmware file (PS3UPDAT.PUP) inside the " UPDATE " folder

So it'll be like this on flash drive (PS3 > UPDATE > PS3UPDAT.PUP)

Note: All folders are case sensitive so make sure you are renaming folders and file properly

Now all that's left is to insert Flash Drive into your PS3 and go to System Update.

Hope this Helped Winky Winky

Your bluray drive must be corrupted then. Did you try installing the software via recovery mode?

Mowing your grass with the ps3? How would I know what you tried first? I just seen someone else give you the wrong info with the first folder being named " USB " when it should be named " PS3 " so I was giving you the proper way to go about that. And no one else up till me corrected that so I was just making sure you had that right info bro.

I understand man. And I have had that same issue before even after I had all the folders named correctly and the problem actually ended up being that the Firmware that I downloaded was corrupted.

Let me ask, What firmware are you currently on?
