Post: Perma-Black Screen PS3 while trying to downgrade (all switches down on E3 Flasher)
06-29-2014, 08:09 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The system itself works just fine, it powers on but there's no PS3 Logo showing up at all and the monitor stays black the entire time but it boots up fine and doesn't shut off at all.

I have done 3 successful backups, the only issue was the next part.
I patched my 4.55FM PS3 with the Flash Tool and then put all the switches down.
I am getting these error as well..

Also i've gotten this error too
start logging...
program PS3 BIOS.
program from TF.
erase all ... OK.
start programming.
read 0:bkpps3.bin at 0x00000000 ... OK.
write PS3 BIOS at 0x00000000 ... failed.
Program Nor failed.

It seems like the process is wanting to go through but it fails at writing/reading bios.
May it be the E3 Clip not being seated right as well?
Before all this i had issues with seating.

I'm not sure what to do at this point and i really want to get this fixed ASAP.

I'd appreciate any help, also if it works i WILL reward you with cash or a private console ID.

Thanks

Hopefully you fix all your problems, but I can guarantee that you will have to reflash definitely. Also, I recommend listening to libra7ry because he knows what he's talking about.

"solder accessories" umm erm just standard 30w or +40 Watt solder iron & lead-free solder needed... But soldering can be dangerous if not experienced at it and or if you don't have a steady hand (if your nerves get the better of you). As i have to admit, i've mildly burnt my fingers a few times now. :embarrassed:

Sooo yeahh, if you can't get help from dad, adult friend, or someone that's got solder iron + engineering/soldering experience. And instead of wasting money on a soldering iron if you're only going to use it once... instead then i suggest using a single wire cable + sticky tape & or duck tape way/trick. As shown in this below example.

Source & details debricking guide might be useful & help you out i think -> You must login or register to view this content.

Also first 2 images, tristate point on motherboard for ps3 slim model if board looks like/matches your one??: You must login or register to view this content.

There's an official PDF from E3 flasher guys, info about flash-fun debricking with couple of pics.. i'll get on my laptop & upload + link it to you after the Germany v Algeria match if you don't mind. ( as on ps3 browser now typing all this with controller =D)

EDIT: Here you go: You must login or register to view this content.
Instead of soldering (if you can't) tape with sticky tape or duck tape a wire. 1 end on the nor tristate point & the other "SBE" point which is on the e3 ribbon.. After if good connection ps3 should stay on & not do the fake YLOD symptom

try applying pressure to the nor chip through out the e3 flashing process. While I did it I kept failing the downgrade process because the clip wasn't being pressed down on the nor chip enough, I just firmly added pressure and kept the pressure on it each time I had to use the e3 flasher to either get a nor dump etc. Trust me its a gamechanger

I think mine has bricked because during the process of flashing the clip failed to be in contact with the NOR Chip. The process went fully through all leds across but once turned on. YLOD.

Make sure that the TF coverboard is pushed in all the way into the e3 flasher.
Also, make sure everything is connected properly

Another question.. which way should the clip face for better connections, or it doesn't matter? I had to flip it facing the right the entire ribbon in order to get better connection.
