if your ps3 is ylod then you have an issue that blowing out dust or repasting the 2 cpu chips will not help ---probability about 1 % will FIX-------sony installs the 2 processors with no lead solder and with time of heating up and cooling down the connections between them will crack ,causing the ylod -----the thermal paste is only there to transfer the heat away , so just repasting will not fix it -----DEFINITLY DO NOT FOLLOW THE THREAD ABOUT PUTTING YOUR BOARD IN THE OVEN AS IT WILL WARP IT AND USUALLY CRACK ----if you don't want to lose what you have in the ps3 then take it to someone that will reball the cpu's and not just heat them up with a flux to try to connect them back to your motherboard-------reballing if you don't know what that is , is where they take your 2 cpu's off of the motherboard and clean away all of the solder ---then resolder it using leaded solder , which will last a lot longer then no lead solder-------as far as repasting your cpu's with artic silver 5 ---it should be done about once a year after it is fixed as to prevent it from drying up and causing ylod
