If i "update" my ps3 to 3.55 OFW and it says minimum update date is 4.46 or something will i still be able to downgrade to 3.55 with a e3 flasher

and what does "DO NOT INSTALL A FIRMWARE LOWER THAN WHAT CAME NEW WITH YOUR PS3!" mean?

2 - Enter the MinVerChk in the pen, as if it were an upgrade.
3 - Insert the stick into the PS3.
4 - Install the update from XMB (This will fail and display the Firmware Base). If it shows 3.55 and under then your ps3 can be jailbroken. If not don't buy E3 Flasher.

No man. You cannot downgrade a ps3 lower then the version the NOR has been built on. If you already bought the E3 Flasher, just return it or downgrade people ps3's..

Every console can be downgraded, but not jailbreaked.

And to answer your question all fats system can be downgraded and jailbreaked, but some fats are NAND or NOR so you have to look for that. I am saying this because E3 Flasher can only downgrade NOR and if you wish to downgrade a NAND, you will need to solder.

Slims are all NOR.

From CECH-20xxA to CECH-21xxB are okay to downgrade and jailbreak.

CECH-25xxA/B, you have to check with MinVerChK.

All those slims over CECH-2501A/B cannot be jailbroken so its useless to dowgrade it.

Not sure to understand your noob question, but if you mean that the ps3 in question can be downgraded and jailbreaked, but when you enter the USB device with MinVerChk and it says 3.55 and over. If so no. Except if someone opened the ps3 and changed the NOR chip.

so i pretty much just check the back of the ps3 and if its downgradable (cechxxx is downgradable) i just start opening it up? or will i still have to check with minvrcheck?
