what do u mean not for general use??

people will get stuck on it. like rogero downgrader. - if there was only some way of warning people not to use it.

My ps3 keeps looking for another update and does a loop am gonna format hardrive by using pc then install rebug 4.70

i take it, it would not install? did you try through the recovery menu and the xmb?

did it try to install the update and fail at around 80% and reboot and do the same over and over?

then

try powering it off at the back/wall socket and power it back on, then let it try the firmware update again automatically.

I can fix any update probs you got & install a cfw of your choice too...
