It wont read the spoof as its not in the core metldr where as the main fw will be read and the ps3 will attempt to install it. This is why its recommended you dont have a disk in the drive whilst updating to cfw as it confuses the 2. A spoof kind of works the same way. But if removed or turnt of manually it will give you an data corruption error when trying to install.
