Just redid the paste on my old slim. I used Arctic MX4. A little dab right in the center of the chip is all you need. Do not spread it edge to edge.

The creator of the thread has most likely fixed the issue, he already made a comment asking for the thread to be closed.

Raise up your fan speed by using WebMAN. PM if the problem continues.

if its a OFW and you have incurance covered on it you can replace it, However if its a CFW take it to a local shop and change the Thermal Layer that makes the PS3 Cool down
