That must be a problem with your internet connection.

ah okay, because i am on 4.70.1 d-rex, ive got it on Dex, ive got it on rebug mode and everything is perfect with the ps3. but as soon as i get to to the system information, it only shows what update im on, and the mac address. plus when i try my ps3 to the pc to share connection, its not even showing up. do you really think that its all because there is an issue fron the internet connection? or can it be from something else?

Thanks again dude!

The PS3 must connect to the internet in order to show an IP Address. Re-do the connection settings and do the Test at the end and if both succeed, you should have an IP that will show up.

It's alright. Head over to settings, Network Settings, and go to Internet Connection Settings and do the settings for your internet. After that, Test the connection and make sure that everything succeeds. Then, you should have an IP.

Thanks man! I will try this right now. Also i just want to ask, i just need to have the ps3 and the router connected by the ethernet cable, or do i have to have the pc connected as well on top of that?
