What game are you playing? Some menu's can freeze a lot, get a good menu don't over do it like spawn heaps of crap in and try and make sure your ps3 is getting cool air in a nice dust free place.

The usual GTA V and Bo2. I think I just need to get new menus because I don't spam anything, half the time it will be when I go to click something it will just randomly freeze. Like the last time my game had just ended and I clicked X on the after action report and it froze me so I shut it off and took a break haha. Are there any modifications I can/should make to the PS3 itself?

try shifting to ps3ita 4.50 as thats THE best dex fw imho

Ps3ita wont make a difference. I actually find Rebug a lot smoother i used to time out ALOT on ps3ita playing gta now when i load gta with Rebug i haven't timed once.

Yeah try a good menu, i use tustins gta sprx menu and have for ages (recently released for free) and it never freezes i have used some menus that when clicking some functions will freeze you! I think it has alot to do with how they are coded

Thread moved to PS3 Questions and Support. Try to take 4 gatorade bottle caps and put one under each corner of the ps3 keeping it evelated and giving the hot air a place to go, instead of straight back into the system.

maybe your thermal paste need a replacing
