CEX vs DEX? Which one is safer in terms of getting console banned and which one has more tools being created for it?

What is the best firmware to be on right now?

Is console bans still a big thing or has it calmed down a lot compared to a year ago?

And in the event that a ban takes place do you know any trusted people/places to buy the unsayable from?

The console banning is still quite a big thing... within the past 3 months ive already got through 2 cids but you just need to remember to do the basics like enable ofw mode before onlne etc...

I like dex more personally and since ive been on dex have not been banned.
i would say stay on dex but keep it safe...

DEX is better imo because its more stable and you get better options when it xomes to menus and such.
Console Bans do happen but only if you arent smart with what you do
Best firmware imo is Rebug 4.75.3 thats what im on and its done me good so far
You cant really say where to get Console IDs from but usally you can tell if they are trusted or not

I'd ignore everyone on here, they're going off of opinions and shit.

CEX is of course going to be safer, and you can use any tools with either cex/dex as long as they're compatible with CCAPI. Sometimes the tools using CCAPI are a bit slower but this isn't really noticeable unless you're going to use like a RTM menu (which is obsolete). You can use SPRX menus (I don't know if anyone told you otherwise, but they're wrong) If you see a menu without CEX compatibility it is because of the developer's ignorance.
Only reason I see fit to be on a DEX firmware would be if you were a developer or something, otherwise it's completely pointless, I'd ignore all of the DEX fanboys out there, beware there are hundreds/thousands of them.

Moving on to the next question, there isn't really a best firmware, all depends on what you plan to do with your PS3. Top firmwares out there right now are going to be Rebug and PS3ITA, I don't have a preference I just use whichever is updated to the latest firmware soonest and then stick with that one until I need to update again.

Console bans are still happening, no way to get around that besides probably modding less, I'd suggest you stick away from all of those homebrews that say they'll prevent ban because I'm pretty sure it's all bullshit. I haven't been banned in the last maybe year and a half, and I never use any of the placebo shit

Appreciate the time you took with that response brother. Before I really left modding DEX was all there was to do RTM so I guess things have changed quite a bit.

I'll have to figure out what firmware I want to use but for now I think I just want to store classic games and possibly do some account modding here and there. I'm not into hosting lobby mods of any sort at all.

I'll stay away from the homebrew because it does sound like trash, not to mention if you go through the pages of comments 70% always complain about being banned anyway.

Anyway thanks for the help again and good luck beating the statistics by not being another banned former staff member.. So many have fallen..
