CEX vs DEX? Which one is safer in terms of getting console banned and which one has more tools being created for it?
What is the best firmware to be on right now?
Is console bans still a big thing or has it calmed down a lot compared to a year ago?
And in the event that a ban takes place do you know any trusted people/places to buy the unsayable from?

Not a problem, just hoping you don't get the wrong information and then getting fucked cause of all the shit these kids made you install on your PS3.
And right, CEX and DEX are now pretty much interchangeable besides the obviously difference, is that you can debug the DEX PS3, but in your case, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Any firmware will do if that's all you plan to do, I guess you could go with one of the later versions of Rebug CEX edition. And if you're not going to be doing lobbies or anything you shouldn't even need to worry about being banned, just stay away from the new games (like BO3) and you'll likely last long.
Great decision! I've never used any of those things, and my IDs last months and months.
