My idea is : pull a NOR chip off of a YLOD PS3 and solder it to a 3000 or 4000 series PS3? (Assuming they are the same 16mb NOR brand). Also, maybe just taking the dead motherboards NOR chips off and soldering them to a flashable PS3 (one @ a time) to pull of idps # ??? Anyone ever hear of this or attempt? What are your guys thoughts on this?

Doubt it's possible since I believe everyone is registered to their console... also you could simply extract the CID(IDPS) fro the Nor chip with an E3, Progskeet or Teensy and then sell it...

it crossed my mind, im gonna do it and see later, now that i googled what tears told me and saw that external powering an E3 is very possible, i dont really sell cid's though, lol, it's just good to have a few back ups. i might hook tears up with a cid though, if they do the ps3 thing

Yes, you can use an external power source (PSU) exactly 3.3v... a PSU should cost around $20... if you need help setting it up and extracting an IDPS you can message me...
