So obviously my hdd is bad or corrupted, so i wanna format it with my PC. Now the question is, do I put the old cfw on it or can i use any one I want? Thanks!

So i formated with PC, tried doing a system update through recovery and it gave me an error and said to contact technical support?
Also, when i try to rebuild database, says system storage cannot be accesed.. Im so stuck lol. Ive tried using rogero 3.55 downgrader and my old firmware which was 4.70 habib cobra 1.01(Cause i have a dex and a cex)

I think you need to get ahold of a known working hard drive.

1. boot ps3 into recovery
2. select option "restore ps3 system"

If the process does not go through, you have a corrupt flash or your hard drive is blown.

But that does go through?
Just goes to a black screen, then back to press start and select screen..

When you put the harddriveyou formatted in the pc back in the ps3 and power up it should give you a PS3 cannot start the system software press ps button to retry or something like that. and it will have something about inserting a storage media containing an update later than ver x.xx and pressing start and select. I would use the ps3updat.pup for 4.70habib at that point. if it doesn't work I would try a different harddrive.
