Post: Upgrade my jailbroken fat ps3 to 500 gb

so i want to upgrade my hdd from 80 gb to 500 gb so the question is am i gonna lose my jailbroken ps3 if i do that, and what is going to happen after i replaced it with new hdd what is going to change and what i have to do.

have you guys changed your hdd what did you do

You won't lose your Jailbreak, anyway for a better understanding follow this video below by Modzlink:

im sorry to ask you but are you 100% sure this will not affect anything what is going to deleted and how much is 500 gb. and can i install 1TB ?

You won't lose your jailbreak. Just is the video Helping linked and you should be fine. 500 GB is plenty enough compared to 80 GB. You shouldn't really need 1 TB.

Did you watch the video I linked you to? You wont'. How much is 500GB? Well if you're asking how many games you can store, plenty. Also note you can use an external hard-drive as well. 1TB is too much in my opinion...

do i have to do the same method he did when he backed up his data in that device do i have to use the same device because i want to use my external hdd not the E3 he used

im not worried about anything anymore im a noob and this the first time to replace hdd and one last question

why he used debug settings when he backed up data ? why he didnt just backed up from the system settings ?

There are different methods, just as there are different method to make the sum of 10: 5x2, 10x1, 5+5...

I linked you to a tutorial that had good ratings, as well as Mozlink is known and trusted. If your curious there are hundreds of other tutorials on YouYube which follow same/different methods...

It's pretty easy man. You won't lose it, just have the same CFW you were previously on ready on a USB stick and when you get to the screen to update just do it via Storage Media like you normally would :p you will have to reinstall homebrew apps and all that after you replace it.
