Post: Rebug toolbox not dumping EID Root Key
02-23-2016, 06:56 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm on Rebug 4.78.1 REX with Toolbox 2.02.09. I'm trying to change my PS3 from CEX to DEX using Toolbox but I can't get past the first step. I'm going to "dump eid root key" but it's not actually doing anything.

I select it, my screen goes black, my PS3 beeps three times, and then restarts. I believe this is what is supposed to happen, but then when I go to "Rewrite Target ID Flash" I get a message that says "Please provide the following file and try again: /dev_usb000/DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN". I backed up my flash to a USB drive before trying to dump my key if that matters.

I FTP'ed to my PS3 and I don't see a eid_root_key folder in dev_hdd0/game/RBGTLBOX2/USRDIR. I have two files in that folder that say root_key_475.self and another thats root_key_475d.self but I'm not sure if thats the right thing.

Are you doing anything before opening Rebug Toolbox? Such as using PSN Patch or PSNinja?

Have you changed any settings in Rebug Toolbox before dumping your eid root key?

Did you get any errors when installing Rebug 4.78.1 REX?

1. Doing nothing before opening Rebug Toolbox, just straight into it.

2. I've changed the following settings in Toolbox. Everything else is default.
a. System Mode - REBUG
b. COBRA mode - Enabled
c. WebMAN mode - Enabled
d. Toggle QA flag - Enabled

3. Yes, I got an error twice while installing. That was due to me not having my blu-ray drive in though, I forgot to plug it in before installing.

Have you swapped your LV2 Kernel and Target Type before in the past or is this your first time?

Ok. Should I revert any settings back to stock before deleting the current Toolbox or just delete and re-install?

That's really up to you. If you want to go back to their default settings then you can.

Reverted back to default settings and re-installed Rebug Toolbox and now I'm on DEX! Thank you very much man, I didnt even think to do that.

Is this a permanent change, or will I ever need to redo all these steps cause I reverted back to CEX on restart or something?
