I had the same problem but my PS3's fan ran like a vacum cleaner aswell. What I did was I changed the fan control mode to 'syscon' and it stopped the fan going wild and stopped the PS3 from turning itself off.

I don't know what you have might be a complete diffrent issue but it's worth a try.

Go onto your laptop, and make sure you have your CFW on. Type in your PS3's IP on your laptop. Just go to the web browser and type in your IP, and you should go to webMAN on your PC. Scroll down on to your Temperature settings and raise up the fan speed. That should make it cool your Jailbreak more so it doesn't overheat.
