thank you! But my ps3 still says no applicable update data found. I AM ON 3.55 OFW. I do have it in a Fat32 formatted USB drive in the filepath PS3>UPDATE. I did have a 3.55 kmeaw ps3 before so i am not new to this. But like i said i am upgading my HDD and I keep getting the error saying no applicable update data was found please enter a storage device with 3.55 higher. I put in the old HDD exactly the same thing happens. Any help? been on this for 2 day. its the traditional slim right after the PHAT

your on 3.55 OFW right ? Than you should be able to install 3.55 Kmeaw CFW over the 3.55 OFW. Make sure the .pup file is renamed correctly such as PS3UPDAT.PUP

Yeah I renamed the file correctly,, I have tried every option in the recovery menu. I have also tried installingKmeaaw instead of 3.55 but it will not work saysthe same thing. Sorry for mispelling anything this computer is slow

Not sure what to say, as Gryphus said make sure you've named the update PS3UPDAT.PUP other than that not sure what else can be done.
