thank you also what do you mean by The qa flag package can be put on the root of your usb and run through "install package files" via XMB.
Also I tried your first method and it didn't work and the ps3 says that to update to1.97 or later and the 3.55 OFW I did works but then after it says that the firmware is correpted so I will be trying your secound method and is the second method the same way too
like PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP
or other way also that Hard drive that I have in right now is a 160 gb HDD and it was from a YLOD PS3 FAT that happen by downgradeing my ps3 with the e3 flasher and can I use any hard dive

It's fine.
Follow my steps and when it comes to install cfw, either the cex downgrader or the dex downgrader will work for you. Whichever works, install a cfw with the same region afterwards (CEX/DEX).

nvm about the qa flag. I replied to the wrong thread sorry, but you may need to now that you are back on 3.55 ofw..
It does not matter if the ps3 was from ylod or not, any 2.5" sata hdd will work. If you insert a new hdd, it will require you to format it to the ps3.
