(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi everyone I just put my hands on a compatible 120GB ps3 to mod, I was confused as to the process and it turns out I need an e3 flasher. This is a continuation of this You must login or register to view this content.

I was talking with Elleusive about the actual flasher and is as follows:

The earlier question was the difference in getting a "quality" product by paying more? You must login or register to view this content. vs You must login or register to view this content.

I bought the cheapest E3 Flasher I could find. It was on eBay and from China. I have downgraded 43 consoles with the same E3. Look after it and you'll be able to use it again. Offer a local downgrade service and make your money back, perhaps. That's what I did.

If you do get the cheaper Flasher, be aware that they require A LOT of pressure. If you have an unstable connection between your NOR chip and the E3, you'll never get a valid dump, and going ahead with invalid dumps will potentially leave you with a bricked console.

If I just have to apply a more pressure and it saves me 25 bucks sounds like it's worth it. Plus Elleusive if you've done many consoles with the same unit it sounds quite durable.

I'm at the stage about to order a flasher, any more advice from the experts in going through with this?

Thank you for the offer that's a nice business you have. But you're in California, and I'm in Canada (we're from two different worlds :P ); your 20 dollar flat rate shipping is to US only. Even if we figured it out shipping would be pricey plus the 75, plus exchange rate!

I might have played GTA V with one of your friends, there was a guy talking about his crew who had a business jailbreaking and they were in California too.

I'm downloading your tutorial videos now and I bookmarked your facebook. I'll watch them for sure, the more information the better! Thank you for making the tutorial.

Well my flasher came in today. It was this You must login or register to view this content.thought it was a fake but now I don't know anymore.

The fake ones have copied the real ones so well that you doubt anything. According to e3's website there's a visual test to see which one you have. But even looking at the You must login or register to view this content. on ebay it makes no difference they still look the same.

Thanks Dro. I did compare it to the pictures last night and it seems ok, however when looking at the Asian sellers of the e3 their pictures are identical to mine hence the confusion. Even the box of the Asian sellers looks like mine, it is not the longer rectangular box that was shown in my original purchase which got me worried.

I'm still waiting for people to chime in if it's an authentic flasher or not. I'm not sure myself.

It looks authentic to me, too, but the fakes really have improved since they were first released. The differences aren't as noticeable as the first set of photos you posted, from the e3-tech website.

My E3 is definitely fake and I can't tell it apart from the real one. I think the only difference will be functionality. I feel the authentic sits much better on my NOR chip, with much less pressure required. I'm guessing yours arrived in more of a square box with E3 NOR FLASHER on the side, rather than the top.
