Post: Help with ps3 semi brick!

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I was on 4.75.2 Rebug DEX,I was trying to switch back to CEX for a little. So my lvl 2 kernel was CEX and my target type was DEX, after i clicked "swap target type" under switch kernel. my ps3 then reboots into this

so i tried many different PUPs and even downgrader PUPs and nothing worked(i dont want to use an OFW PUP cause i dont wanna lose my cfw and cant afford another cfw) i tried doing it many times and on "preparing to update, it goes fast then when it hits 89% it starts of very slow then when it hits 98% it stays stuck forever. please any help will be very appreciated guys thank you :(

At 90% now, it slowed down slot at 89 agains, haven't reached 98 but I assume it's not gonna work again :(

i try and try and still getting stuck on that stupid 98 crap and when i go to system update from the recovery mode, it freezes after i click on it

i can go to recovery mode, but i everytime after i click system update, my ps3 freezes, plus i have absolutely no access to my software/XMB

what cfw is that?

nope still nothing... im on a semi brick, all im able to do is reinstall cfw, but this 98 bs keeps happening. i have no access to my XMB

2. On a fat32 formatted usb flash drive, create a folder named "PS3"
3. Inside the "PS3" folder, create a folder named "UPDATE"
4. Inside the "UPDATE" folder, place your "PS3UPDAT.PUP"
5. Insert the flash drive into the right most usb port of the ps3
6. Boot ps3 into recovery mode (or boot to the screen you see)
7. Select option "update system"
8. Follow prompt and install

Folder structure should be:
fat32formattedflashdriveroot/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP


Verify these things and let us know.

im unable to select option 6 as my ps3 instantly freezes when i select it and every pup/cfw i install gets stuck on 98, theres no end to this bullshit madness. :(
