(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Please bear with me as this will be long. But I want to include as many details that I can, in the hopes that someone can assist me.

*it may be of import, that while I was still on CEX, and Sony released 4.80, I decided to try to use SEN Enabler to get back online. I followed the following route paths to active SEN Enabler SEN/PSN Options>Enable/Disbable SEN access>Enable SEN Access>YES. This did not work. Although my system information now said 4.80, PSN still asked for an update when trying to go online. So I disabled SEN Enabler following this route path SEN/PSN Options>Restore Default spoof>YES and decided to go to DEX since DEX was not having online issues, and frankly there is a lot more that can be done with DEX.

So I decided to convert to DEX. Firstly, I installed Rebug 4.78.2 REX(my system is already QA flagged), then used this tutorial You must login or register to view this content. to convert to 4.78.2 D-REX. Then I followed this tutorial You must login or register to view this content. to safely get online with no issues other than the actual game issues which I will get into below.

The problem I am having, is that any time I try to backup GTA 5, I seem to be missing files needed to mod the game. I might add that before switching and even after switching to DEX(while still using the original game backup that was backed up while still on CEX) the needed files were there. Then I installed the newest version of Multiman, and when I did that, it deleted the folders within Multiman that I created to contain any of the files that I changed to run mods in GTA 5. At that point, I decided to delete, and re-install the game so I could start from a clean copy, as some of the files in the game update folders were now modded script files, and didnt mesh well with the sprx file I was now trying to use since I was now on DEX(kept freezing the game 5-10 minutes into every online session), and I no longer had the original game files since the new Multiman deleted them.

Once I deleted and re backed up the game, something very odd happened. The folder hdd_0/GAMES contained the root game files like it should, but the folder hdd_0 DID NO contain either the BLUS31156 or BLUS31156_install files that should have been therre. This has never happened as every other time I have backed up a game, a file was created in both locatons(for some reason which I don't know, GTA 5 creates the additional "install" file as well which is normal). Now, since all mods are added into the hdd_0/game/BLUS31156(or BLES08718 if memory serves me correctly directory once converted) I could not even convert the game to the BLES version, much less add mods to the folder. I tried multiple times of uninstalling and re-backing up the game files, going back to the original Multiman I had, different file managers, and nothing seemed to work. I am truly at a loss as to what could be going on.

Now I just tried something else, I tried a different game. I tried MW2 this time since its a very quick game to install vs some of the other games I have on my hdd,and it's one of the few games I still own a disk for :P. This game installed perfectly fine, and had the needed file in both locations, both in the "GAMES" folder, and the "game" folder. So now that know it is not the console, or any of the software installed, it leads me to believe it HAS to be something with when I tried to convert the BLUS game to the BLES version(which I was successfully able to do previously). Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here? Keep in mind, that with GTA 5, I was still able to install updates, and play the game even with the missing directory folder which makes absolutely no sense...unless that folder is there, just in some ass backwards location on the hdd(I did search to the best of my ablity an could not find it). I did try to delete and re-install the game multiple times and it keeps doing the same thing.

I would really like to figure this out, so if anyone has any idea where i might look for the missing hdd_0/game/BLUS31156 folder might be, as it has to be on the system somewhere since I can update and play the game?... I think during one of my attempts to convert it to BLES from BLUS that I must have done something that changed the dierctry location of the file, I just have no clue what I could have done. Anyone have any ideas or any suggestions for me here?

if not, it's not a huge deal, as I actually broke down and just bought a BLES version of the game so I can directly install it as it is technically a different game an it will be here in about 4 days, I would just rather not have to wait that long to play my game. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This was a lot to understand I did understand most of it, but am a little confused. Long story short, correct me if I'm wrong, GTA is your only game having issues? Mw2 and others work just fine? Also, incase you didn't know the difference between directories /game and /GAMES here it is:

/game is where updates are found. This is where you would place modified files such as an eboot, rpf, etc.

When the game is launched it reads from the update folder.

/GAMES is where backup/pirated games are located. This location is where full games are loaded from. If there are no updates for the game, it will load from here. For example, if there were no updates, the eboot would be read from here.

Replacing files in this directory can cause many issues for games. You are messing with the official game files it uses to read. Depending on what game and what was changed it could cause the game to not load, have a black screen, or not work properly.

In some cases, you can replace an eboot here. Those cases are typically when a game, which doesn't have any updates installed, won't launch or has issues. You then replace it with a "fix" eboot. Other cases would be when wanting to mod a game, sometimes the modified file is in the games install contents. So you'd replace whatever file it was and then install the game, which would install the modified version.

Almost every game has updates, installed or not. So you replace them in /game. For noobs it's simple to just tell them never to mess with /GAMES unless needed.

Yeah I think you misunderstood me. I'm not trying to make changes to the "GAMES" folder at this point. I know that that is the base directory folder, aka where the machine looks for the game first. I also know not to mess with those files unless something dire happened or unless converting to a different region for the game. The only time I've ever messed with that folder was when I was trying to manually fix a game that had corrupted files before deleted it and backed it up again, and when I tried to convert the game to the BLES version from the BLUS version, in which case certain files within the "GAMES," or root directory folder have to be replaced with converted files. The issue I am having, is after backing up the game, and downloading the latest update, the "game" folder, or update folder is just non-existent, but yet the game starts up just fine. It shouldn't start up at all with a missing update folder, or at the very least, should ask to download the newest update upon launch, but the game will load just fine...it's weird as all hell. Since it loads just fine, I can't help but wonder if the update folders got moved somewhere somehow. I'm not in front of the PS3 at the moment, so I can't check, but I seem to remember an actual "update" folder within the "GAMES" or root folder. If the updates were in the actual root folder, I wonder if the system would read them from there since the normal update folders are missing...I dunno, it's so weird, and I've racked my brain over this for a few days and tried everything I know...including searching most of the other folders in the hdd seeing if they just somehow got moved... And yeah, GTA 5 is the only one I'm having problems with, and only after attempting to convert it to the BLES version. But even if I messed up, and swapped the wrong file or something, it should fix it upon deleting the game entirely and backing it up again. But I've actually tried that 3 times with the same result. I'm baffled o say the least...

Well the updates would go in /game and shouldn't be in /GAMES. Unless you have Internet connection off then it should prompt you with update screen on launch.

I would suggest you restore file system and the check your game data utility. Worst I can say is just to dl a BLES copy of the game to fix all these issues.

I actually ordered the BLES disk and it should be at my house by this Thursday. I really don't want to restore the file systems as I have over 20 games saved to the hd ad I realllly don't want to have to re back them all up and back up all the save game files either...lol. Oh well. just have to wait till thursday.

Restoring file system doesn't delete anything at all. Then I'd just suggest you wait for the disc.

Something else just happened that I'm not sure if ou would understand why or how I can fix it, but I tried once again to re-backup the game after deleting all he game files from system data, but now, after re-installing the game, in Multiman, I cannot, rename, use permissions, delete the game from Multiman. Could this be related, or do you happen to know how I may go about deleting the game?

scratch that. I'm an idiot. I was trying to delete from the disk icon, not the hdd icon.
