(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); like the title says, i was just wondering if there was a way i can remove the jailbreak from one of my ps3's. i searched a bunch and so far i've only managed to get myself back to 3.55. was on rebug 4.21. not sure where to go or what to do from here. any help would be greatly appreciated and keep in mind im noobish at this kkinda stuff. thanks folks

Technically, to remove the jailbreak, one would simply have to install an official firmware higher than 3.55 to the console.

On the xmb, at the top of the second column from the left, go to Update system... Update via internet and it will install the latest official sony firmware.

Afterwards, you will not be able to install another custom firmware or go back to 3.55, without flashing the console with a hardware flasher such as e3 flasher.

Really no reason to do this unless you are not banned and want OFW>CFW

i dont even have an option to update via internet, only with usb. and when i put the usb in that has the latest ofw, the ofw shows up but it wont let me select it. i wanted to do this because i already have another ps3 thats jailbroken and i wanted to have one ofw so i can just play care free on it and just use the other one for doing rtm, recoveries etc. i havent even really done any recoveries or rtm in over 6 months but just had another account banned.

Then just update via safe mode. There's an option in debug settings that can block the internet option which is probably what is happening. Make sure you quote us back!

i dont know which setting exactly i should change or look for....i've tried to update using a formatted usb stick with no luck. i get an error msg that the data is corrupted. i even restored the ps3 completely and still nothing.

Are you on CEX or DEX? What CFW currently?

was on rebug dex 4.21 then downgraded to 3.55. thats what im currently on. and just did a full restore as i mentioned in my last post. havent done anything since the restore except try to update fw

cuz i have 2 other cfw ps3's and dont wanna lose anymore accounts playing on a cfw ps3

So then you are on 3.55 DEX? You need to convert to CEX first.
