Post: PS3 New Thermal Compound question about temps

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So i just replaced my PS3's thermal compound with artic silver mx-4 I used the artic silver acrtic clean to remove the existing compound on it instead of rubbing alcohol
everything appears to have taken well and the ps3 booted up just fine
my question is about the temperature of the ps3

so in the rebug toolbox i got 60cell 54rsx after 20 minutes
in gta5 after an aditional 20 min i got 75cell and 71rsx
all temperature is in celsius btw

are these temperatures normal for a ps3 playing gta5?
tbh that is 2degrees hotter on both than it was before i replaced the old compound
i used the spreading method should i replace it again with the grain of rice method?

thanks in advance

*note* in the time it took me to type this i had my ps3 on the XMB cooling down before i shut it down and the temps are now 64cell 57rsx ~roughly 10 minutes probably closer to 8 - which is cooler than the resting temps than before lol

Its normal for cpu and gpu have around 5-10c difference.

Method of applying doesnt matter too much, I usually spread a thin even layer and put a little blob in the middle.

I aim to get my consoles to stay around 60c after a few hours. I also take off the ihs plates to apply underneath but does take quite abit of skill to do successfully

so i got webman and im using it at 65c with 25%lowest fan setting
it stays pretty steady at 64cell 61rsx after 2 hours of gta5 online with money drops and all

awesome advice from everybody on this thread thank you very much!!
