(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I read online a while back that modifying fan speeds caused the light, but why the freeze? I never messed with my speeds before, but after my 3rd YLOD I thought it was time too. Temps on this system stay under 55C with fan running 60% at all times. So is the light thing normal? Why the freeze?

Is your PS3 a fat? That's the only reason you should need to change the fan speed.

No it's a slim. 2501A. Had 3 slims take a dump on me before, I want to be safe than sorry. It's in a good spot too, before you mention that. Just asking why that happens

Slims are made to not overheat so i don't know why yours would be overheating. I've had my OFW slim for like 4-5 years and no problem with overheating and i used it all day everyday. And have had my jailbroken slim for about a year and never had an issue with overheating either. So i have no clue why you have an issue with it.

Well my first slim was like that. Then other's I bought fucked up, you make it sound impossible. Eventually, you'd need to replace thermal paste and if not it could happen.

Not impossible but it seems pretty hard since they are made so they dont overheat easily like the FAT.

Yes but they are old. They are getting extremely old meaning they have a better chance if they've been used before. Regardless, this is irrelevant to my question.
