(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am in need of some help please!
I have jailbroken ps3's before but its been a couple years.

Here is what happened.

I took apart the slim console, Installed the e3 flasher and made 3 identical dumps no problem.

I then flashed the patched dump.

Here is where the problem begins:
I installed the rogero downgrader 3.55 and toggled qa
I heard 3 beeps and it went to the xmb. I went to network setting to make sure toggle qa was active.

i the realized i did not install the bluray drive before performing the jailbreak and now if i hookup the bd drive the console shows no picture on the tv.
if i disconnet the bluray drive and power it on a few times the xmb shows again.

what happened here? how can i fix this?

Thank You in advance.

i think its from trying to install 4.80 rebug d-rex it said installing then went to another install screen and said corrupted. after this i got the black screen. the ps3 stays on.
So should i flash back my original and then flash thepatched dump back? what should the switches on e3 be set at?

if thats the case then your bricked, go back to old flash, you shouldn't be able to install d-rex without dex converting
only the flash fun switch should be set, just install you first patched flash then they boot it, if you fuck this up though you will need a soldering iron and a bit of wire to fix it, maybe just use all switch down, im not sure i think flash fun is for full bricks, i use the recovery menu and swap hdd to fix semi bricks most the time so you should probably try that first, if you can access it, a semi brick could explain the no display but its hard for me to say as i can't see the console myself and diagnose it

i have exp repairing ylod etc. this is definetly not the case. i cannot access the recovery menu. last night i was able to somehow get back to xmb but i cannot replicate it today.
I started thinking what harm would it be to just flash back my patched dump and that should get me back to where i need to be. the ps3 does stay on so i dont think i need to use flash fun or solder anything so should i just keep all the switches down then?

should work, it does seem like a semi brick to me, if it was after a system update, what country are you from, when you convert to dex console will go to NA display and some tv's can't display the standard low resolution in other countries, but going by what you said you didn't dex convert so going to old flash is best bet in that case. sorry about my confusion atm, so yeah just use the default write switches for e3 flasher if thats the case

From what i read everywhere else i don't think I will brick it at all by re flashing the original dump. My question is why not just flash my original patched dump though? I guess the safest would be to flash the original and start the ps3 and see what happens then i will flash the patched dump back to it. I'm working now but I'm going to try it tonight after work. If I fail I have 4 more ps3's to jailbreak. But i don't like losing $300
