(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi I was wondering is it possible to remove the horrid E3 SD Card tray and possibly solder a USB socket in place? So instead of using SD Cards it can now use USB?

It word save the trouble of trying to lay the SD Card in place and trying to close that gate on it just to keep it in place...With USB You can just pop it in, pop it out easily

Is it possible or no?

Good idea but what are the chances they're gunna reply/I can contact them xD

At the current state of its development, I would say that they would not bother adding it in, not that it's a bad idea but at this point in the lifecycle of the PS3 I doubt it would be a financially viable thing to do for them.

Oh my bad, then yeah for sure it's possible, but you would need some soldering skills and know the design of that board very well as could very easily just mess up the whole thing if you don't know how they set everything up in the pcb.

I would probs have to buy a E3 front to test trying the solder out first but yeah its good too know its possible. Just need to investigate the pcb :putin:

The only reason that you'd even want this is cause that SD slot they give you is a literal definition of cancer aha a USB would be way easier but could actually cause issues cause of the error lists so like you said buy a replacement front or two of them for testing purposes

the sd slot on mine came loose mid flash and my ps3 is now unusable due to bad flash i think a usb would be great but i sold my e3 flasher someone else wanted it even with the bad sd slot
