Post: Error 10001111 while flashing patched dump
11-26-2016, 08:27 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello guys, so I recently installed E3 flasher, dumped 3 good backups(I was on OFW 4.80), verified them via norpatch v4.81 and PS3 Dump Checker v1.0 (build 490), both of these tools verified and validated the dumps. The backups were good.

I then went on to patch the backup via*PS3 Dump Checker v1.0 (build 490), and when I was flashing the patched backup, the E3 threw the dreaded 10001111 error.

Now my PS3 won't stay on. It turns on for 3 seconds and then turns itself off, on pressing the power button it again does the same thing. There is no YLOD or anything. Now I found out that I can keep it on by soldering a wire to NOR Tristate and GND (my board is JTP-001) and then flash the backups via E3 using the Flash Fun mode.

So my question is after I solder the wire and turn on the PS3, do I need to flash my original backup first via E3 and then flash the patched backup or can the patched backup be flashed directly without flashing the original backup?

Hope you understand the question.

Thank you.

Never happened to me before, but since you flashed a original backup before and patched it you wont need to flash your original again. So you can flash it directly, but keep the original backups as you may want to rip the CID from it as it might disappear.

Yes I have 3 copies of my good original backups, I will keep them safe.
So I can directly flash the patched backups now via flash fun mode of E3 flasher, right?

Thanks.

Why are you using flash fun mode?

Because I am confused which mode to use after soldering & turning on the PS3.
I have read conflicting write-ups, and am not sure whether flash fun mode have to be used to write the patched backup or normal 'all switches down' mode..
^^On the above psdevwiki article it is also written that flash fun should be used. So confusing. :(

You can use fun flash mode, but I THINK it is for (or more so for) when the console is no longer running due to a bad flash. You would solder tristate to a ground and flash a good backup to it in fun flash mode. At least, that's how I usually decide which to recommend..I could be wrong..

so since the console is glod but still running i THINK you can just flash it, either in fun flash mode or not..

Got it.
So now I should solder NOR Tristate to GND and then flash patched backup via 'all switches down' mode of E3. No Flash fun.

Thanks.

You only need to solder tristate to ground if the console no longer powers on, or no longer stays running. You would do that to keep it running enough to work your flashing. Otherwise you don't need to do that..

Yes, as mentioned in original post, when I turn on the console it turns itself off after around 3 seconds. No beeps, no YLOD or anything, just shuts itself off.
Thats why I need to solder NOR Tristate to GND, to keep it on long enough to flash the patched backup.
