Post: Jailbreak Help

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Im jailbreaking a 2501A. Finished flashing NOR and reassembled console. Now the console is acting as if there's a hardware issue. I power it on, the green light comes on for a couple seconds, the blue light for CD drive does not come on at all, then it beeps and powers off. All the lights go off. When i press the power button after it shuts off the red light will come back on solid and if i press it again the console will turn on again and repeat cycle.
I did have a disc in the drive. I heard somewhere before you're not supposed to have a disk in the drive. I did remove drive and remove disk from drive. After I removed the disc it did stay on a couple extra seconds and I heard noise from CD drive. If this is true how do it fix? I tested the drive to make sure 100% function before jailbreak and left the BO2 disk in on accident.
So by my thinking, if you can jailbreak without the drive, why cant it power on without the drive? So i removed drive all together and tried powering on and still does same thing.
Does the drive need to be installed on these 2501A consoles during the NOR flash?
Any input would be appreciated. Console worked 100% prior to flashing NOR. That's all Ive done so far.

The drive isn't needed to power on the console..

It's more likely to be a bad flash. If it's GLOD, you can simply trying flashing a good backup to the console (if you have one)

If it ylods, youll have to solder tristate to a ground and try to flash a good backup to the console (if you have one)

Thanks. I didn't think it was needed. Have tried swapping PSUs. Bad flash was my fear, considering it worked fine prior. I also did the fan test where you hold eject button and plug the console in and it will stay on for the test. The CD drive will work in that mode, also. So....

I do have backup of dumps and patched files. Now, my concern is how do I get it to stay powered on to redo the dump? Do I have to do this soldering you're talking about; tristate to ground? If so is there a Tutorial as I've never had to do this before. Not trying to dig deeper hole.

yea, if it wont stay powered on, you solder the tristate to a ground (youll have to look up a pinout for your motherboard). This will power the console enough so you can work on it. Then reflash the console with e3 flasher with fun flash mode switch up, the rest down.

10-4

I have the tristate soldered now. Just reformatted SD and placed patched file on SD. About to plug in and try it out now. First up, rest down. Thats what others said as well. Thanks for confirmation.
