(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi folks. So everthing was fine, tested a new cid (which works fine) but when tested I got the error '80711008' (a dns error I assume). I've reset the router & ps3s, troubleshot everything possible (that I can think of) on two consoles (both doing the same so must be a router issue?). When I reset/reboot the router the error goes & allows sign in & online. But eveytime I log out of an account leaving the console on same settings etc conected to same network, I get the dns error again.
It's a ball ache to put it mildly, have no idea why it's happning, like I said tried on two conoles (both were working fine) now these errors everytime I log into another account. I noticed that if i log into an existing user on the ps3 it'll let me in, but if I create a new one & try to log in I get the error message.
Probably something obvious but got me stumped!

To cut that a bit shorter, I'm getting the error message everytime I create a new user. I have to reset the router (two consoles) to be able to log in again.
I dunno.....

Thanks in advance!

A lot of threads similar to these DNS errors have been created. It's an IP Ban. I would recommend using a VPN to change your IP. Some people have even gone out and purchased new routers to get new IPs. Either is fine.

Yeah that would explain a lot, was the only answer but thought was abit much to ban ips. I ran it through the same ip for a while I spose, normally would change settings etc but my own fault. That would also explain the ban on the cid when it initallay happened. Wow Sony I thought you'd stopped caring. Either way just have to keep rebooting the router til I sort it ha never mind.

Much appreciated thanks

Weird that Sony would care about IP, since it's easily changed.

So are MACs now and CIDs. Nothing they can do really besides a Serial Number ban. OOOOH that'd be perfect!

Seriously, why don't they go for the serial ban. I haven't seen anything about a tool to spoof serial, and they know what serial is linked to each PSN account.

Yeah, exactly! Would make more sense because a serial number is like a Console ID, except it is hardwired into the PS3 and can't be changed.

I wouldn't say its an IP ban because if yu let it sit for a few min it will let you back on
