Post: PS3 Mod Menu Questions

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I should probably introduce myself before I start begging for information... (lmao)

Hi, I'm very new to the jailbreaking and modding scene. I've wanted to get into this kind of stuff for a long time now, but I never really put in the time, effort, or funding to pull this off. Recently bought my E3 flasher, downgraded, jailbroke, and now I am on Rebug 4.81 running a CEX system. I'm still learning as I go on.

I'd like to go on and ask for some information on mod menus, because all I have done were cfg's in MW2 back in the day, and I know it's way different on other games.

1. What different types of menus do we have? (I have heard about EBOOT, SPRX, GSC, and RTM but don't understand much about them.)
2. What does each type do compared to others?
3. What is the "best" type?
4. How are they installed/used?
5. Do different games use different types?
6. Do they all work on CEX and DEX? (Benefits of DEX vs CEX??)

[/B]
Sorry it's a lot of questions, thank you in advance to anyone who can help me. Smile

1. Depends on the game. GSC Menus are usually seen within Black Ops 1 and 2, and allow for customized gamemodes, xp lobbies, instant shotgun ranks, etc. RTM is real time modding using either CCAPI or TMAPI connection, based on your cfw. Eboot is basically how the game runes, and helps for people to implement antibans or to make a certain part of the game load up (zombies/multi), or provide certain mods such as one-shot kills, aimbot, etc.

2. RTM is pretty effective for changing stats on a game...

3. GSC is pretty much limited to COD afaik, so can't really say "which is the best", but SPRX and Eboot allow for mods to be on-the-go, while GSC can be 3-5 minute process, then not having to use your computer, and RTM is heavily reliant on using your PC, which can limit the internet for your PS3.

4. SPRX has a customized eboot to inject the sprx file (though some tools state they can do it remotely without need of custom eboot), and the actual .sprx file goes in your tmp directory on the PS3. GSC is injected via a GSC Injector, such as GSC Studio. GSC and RTM would both rely on an api such as CCAPI/TMAPI/SNMAPI, and therefore RTM is used through connecting and attaching to the PS3.

5. A lot of the CoDs, The Last of Us, GTA V use SPRX menus. Any game can use an RTM tool, though not many are made outside of the mainstream (CoD, GTA, Destiny, FIFA) games... GSC is pretty much seen in BO1 and BO2, though other CoDs should be able to use the asset.

6. Depends. Some eboots will state that they're debug, meaning they only work for DEX consoles, whereas a retail eboot or self will work on any jailbroken console. Many people make SPRX for DEX, but CEX is not unheard of. GSC and RTM has connection for both CEX and DEX, though using TMAPI would allow for RPC features and less lag and crashes, as TMAPI is Sony's own proprietary api, while CCAPI is an api created by the group, FrenchModdingTeam.

Thank you! Very informative.

How are Eboots and SPRX programmed?

Can't really get into specifics, since I've never used SPRX before Sal I prefer GSC modding. psdevwiki may be able to help you further.
