Been running this PS3 pretty hard all week, overheated a fair bit (went off like a jet engine etc) & now very slow to react to anything (XMB, games pretty much anything) & as you can tell I know very little about what's inside, anyone got an idea of what I most likely damaged/fried? As it goes I'm pretty good at destroying anything connected to wifi :s

Did it ylod or just sound like it was dying?

It is usually (but not limited to) damage to the solder under the CPU and/or GPU..

You can change the thermal paste on both CPU and GPU and hope for the best. If it doesn't help, the console will need a reflow, a reball, or to be replaced..

Just overheated afew times, then became slow as hell, think it's the paste if not no I'm sure I'll find a way round it. Still works (banned off course at the mo). That or I'll just swap it with my bro's console & hope he doesn't notice
