I am probably becoming a real pain now. I have done as you stated to upgrade to 2.53 from 2.51 demo. When I put the SD card in and ask it to update via storage media, the system comes back and says that "No applicable update data was found."

I'm really stuck and believe me appreciate your help. Any other ideas?

did you rename the update ?

I renamed it as you stated. I also tried the “PS3UPDAT.PUP” and thought maybe changing to 2.51.PUP may do the trick and that didn't either.

is there anyway to downgrade to one of these firmware and still be able to get online with COD4? and use that hack to have unlimited ammo and laser sight??
