To tell if you're host these are the things you need to look out for:

1. In the lobby, look at the top when the countdown begins, if it says "Match Beginning in...." and that text vanishes it means you are host, this can be seen on both Xbox 360 and PS3. Now if that changes to launching... you are not host (PS3). On Xbox the Match Beginning in.. would not disapear before map loads and would stay.

2. During Host Migration in game, if your screen goes black after Awaiting Connection 0, that means you are the new host. If it says Awaiting Connect 1 after Awaiting Connection 0 then you are not host.

I will try have a video uploaded showing you what I mean.

Remember you have to have NAT Type Open. Try reconnecting it to your router, try using fixed Ip on your PS3, Im guessing you would have a netgear router, so by logging into your router and clicked attached devices, reserve an IP slot for the PS3.

haha yeah i got AOL there pants lag alot too Not Happy or Sad.

But yeah i do get host once or twice a month :P

That is a very good connection, make sure your NAT Type is Open, trust that is very good enough to get host.

You may not notice it, these are the things you need to look out for:

before the game begins there's a Match Beggining in.. countdown. After the countdown hits 0 and disappears before the map loads you are host. On PS3 if it says launching... you are not host, on 360 if match begginning in.... stays and does not disapear when the map loads, you are not host.

During host migration, when it says awaiting connection 0.. and the screen goes black you are the new host, if it continues from 0 to 1 you are not the new host.

Play other game types like SnD, Demolition, CTF, people with better connection can tend to play the same game type. Free for all is the best place to test, since the players are often low levels who don't know about internet connections.

You need more than just UPnP, your connection also matters. Open Nat means your ports are open pretty much.
