The only catch (if this works, and I haven't tried it yet because of the following) is that you'd need to update to 3.42 and lose your jailbreak.

Here's the thing:
If anybody has installed a hack patch on their jailbroken PS3 (via FTP), that patch will remain there until the next game update. Even if you're running unjailbroken.

Try it. Unplug your Mod Chip, Calculator, or Phone, and restart the PlayStation. If you go back into the game, it'll be hacked, just like before.

So if somebody were to install a hacked patch and then update to the latest firmware, the patch would stay there and would work online (modded 10th lobbies!).

So the only question is:
Does anybody have a successful method to downgrade? I know this was looked into before, but never went very far.

Would it work if you backed up the PS3 on 3.41, updated, got some people into Challenge Lobbies, and then Restored the Backup to 3.41? (I think this was already proven not to work, unfortunately.)

Yes you can do that but when/if a new patch comes out you will have to buy another ps3 to bypass. Also this hack is much bigger than MW2 and not worth losing it. I have 2 ps3s though but one is broke with ylod I'll fix it soon when the homebrew scene all kicks off..

Yeah I know, no point losing it at the cost of a couple of hacks, better stats and chrome guns. Having said that, this is a good oppurtunity to make some serious money though. In the right hands witha tonne of caffeine you would be able to host lobbies untill the next patch for like £10 a person lol.

People will always figure out how to further hacking. I am hoping what comes next is JB for iphone as it is probably going to be than ti84 and a bypass for 3.42. I am going to try ad figure that out (the bypass one)

Good luck hope it works! As for me I am going to stay on 3.42 until a bypass because I love the JB. unless they get the JB on 3.42. Anyway I am off to go mod splitscreen and lan!

Yeah but I'm don't have a jailbreak yet. For all the things released I haven't had any of them.. Wheres the PSP or iPhone version? oh well guess I will have to wait.. :mad:

Of course, thats what hacking is all about. It's a game of cat and mouse in which the creators seem to always havethe upper hand and when they are losing they can easliy get back in the lead.

Im getting a new ps3 so im gonna hack mw2 with it then update, cause that one is going to be my playing ps3. My hacking one is the old 60gig.
