You guys are all looking in the wrong spot, the index.dat is crucial and encrypted. The version.txt is a simple text exchange, it isn't important. You need to look in the direction of spontaneous data rendering. Telling the PS3 to find just a signature of Sony language is enough. It doesn't have to be an entire index.dat. Focus on just the signature and implement your custom settings. This will allow a simple version exchange. The PS3 is satisfied with the signature and that's all it cares about. :love:
