Then, if you do get it traded in for the oldest firmware is it correct to say that you can update it from the oldest firmware to 3.41 using storage?

They can tell (system logs) if you used the jailbreak. You can actually view the logs with the FTP if you know where to find them. I've already looked at them... Interesting to look at... You'd be surprised when you look at the error logs... The PS3's OS sounds unstable just by reading it, but you'd probably never know if you never look at it.

:O thats what im gunna do, when you get your new ps3 make sure you dont connect it to the internet, this way your ps3 cant search the servers for the 3.50 update, instead choose the option to update thro storage media, if you need the 3.41 fw pm me

when my ps3 broke sony sent me a new one but it wasnt on the very first firmware and my guess is because sony know about jailbreak they will make sure its updated to atleast 3.42

I think hes talking about taking it back to a store and saying its broken and he wants to exchange it. just what I'm pulling out of this thread.
