What You Need?:
A PS3
A Hairdryer
A Box That Can Fit The PS3 In(Small as Possible)
A Fan

NOTE: Only Try This If The 5 Minute Hair Dryer Trick Does Not Work


Steps:
1)Collect Equipment
2)Unplug PS3
3)Put In In Box
4)Turn On Hairdryer (High Temp)
5)Go Over The Fans(On Ps3)/Keep Moving (For 20 Minutes)
6)Put Fan On The Ps3 Fans /For 20 Minutes
7)Turn On

didnt work for me, infact it made the problem worse, and melted the fan enclosure.

is this post to be like the xbox trick plugging the fans?? it may work but it causes more damage in the end i literaly warps the board

yes it does work for 1-5 weeks
it well eventually wreck your ps3 but Its easire than sending to sony

Do a barrel roll!
Why is it easier? You get a brand new/refurbished if they can't fix it, or you get your console back fixed. What is so hard about that?

Or you can pay a professional with an SMC workstation to properly reflow it for around $50-75 and it will last A LOT longer.
