(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); SORRY ABOUT TITLE, IS MISLEADING.. I MEANT DATA TRANSFER FROM ONE PS3 TO ANOTHER USING THE INTERNET & SOFTWARE Smile

okay..
so it's well known, you use data transfer to get a modded patch on an up-to-date system..
but i started thinking, since there's a lot of ppl who want to get a modded patch on a 3.50 system by sending their ps3 to someone who has a JB..
Xlink Kai tricks the ps3 into thinking there's other ps3 in LAN
If we could 'exploit' this connection/do something similar to transfer the patch over VPN to someone else who is connected the same way..
I'd try this myself, but my shitty router won't allow me to open any ports on my wireless connection :(

so in short, i wanna try this

PS3 3.41 ==> PC ~~~ VPN/I'net ~~~ PC ==> PS3 3.50
& for the VPN maybe we could use Xlink somehow (or parts of it?)

if this gets figured out, ppl would be able to send you modded patches over the I'net (& data transfer with only mw2 patch = what ? 100MB ?)

any ideas/suggestions/ problems ? Happy
& I know this should be in PS3 exploits or something, but since it's main purpose is to transfer mw2 patch, I thought i'd post it here, since more ppl read this section..
srr if i shouldn't have & feel free to move Smile

yours truly Dancing

i know where your going with this... if you would set up a virtual network through some program that can transfer incoming Ethernet data through a wireless card or whatever straight to another computers Ethernet port it could work... it's plausible

Great idea but it wont work as once you are in Data TV utility you can't do anything else so no way to connect through vpn, someone would have to write a piece of software to let it happen and even then I think it would fail.

This might work if you get a program to work with it or something but just directly, it won't work

dude, if you connect it with an ethernet cable to a pc, you could somehow "capture" what the ps3 is sending out to find the other ps3 & use PC (notice the PC!!) software to get another computer to send THAT SAME SIGNAL to the second ps3

neither of the ps3 should be aware there's any device between them.. it should be like the connection we make acts as a straight UTP cable Smile

once we get that far we can test if that works Smile
& i called friend from work & sent him an email, he's into this VPN shizzle, IF there's a way to do this, he should know how to do it Happy
until them i'ma keep googling, hoping to find something to work this out..

if you TRULY understand what i'm trying to get at & you know your way around this stuff, feel free to PM me or quote me in this thread so we can see what we can do Smile

sounds like it could work, right Dancing

I'm learning networking in school, I have that class next week, I'll talk to my instructor and see what he thinks, he helped my friend with his PSJB, sadly his PS3 got YLOD, stupid fat PS3 :(

update:

I was just messing around & i accidently found out that there CAN be a switch between both ps3 !!
my setup right now (not changing to data transfer)

switch with 3 cables:
ps3 3.41
ps3 3.50
router Smile

& it works when i try to data transfer Happy

so that makes the whole VPN thing sound a little more realistic..
anyone has any ideas as to how this could be accomplished with software ?

it gives error when there's a working internet connection on that switch (or maybe any other active connection?)
