(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); SORRY ABOUT TITLE, IS MISLEADING.. I MEANT DATA TRANSFER FROM ONE PS3 TO ANOTHER USING THE INTERNET & SOFTWARE Smile

okay..
so it's well known, you use data transfer to get a modded patch on an up-to-date system..
but i started thinking, since there's a lot of ppl who want to get a modded patch on a 3.50 system by sending their ps3 to someone who has a JB..
Xlink Kai tricks the ps3 into thinking there's other ps3 in LAN
If we could 'exploit' this connection/do something similar to transfer the patch over VPN to someone else who is connected the same way..
I'd try this myself, but my shitty router won't allow me to open any ports on my wireless connection :(

so in short, i wanna try this

PS3 3.41 ==> PC ~~~ VPN/I'net ~~~ PC ==> PS3 3.50
& for the VPN maybe we could use Xlink somehow (or parts of it?)

if this gets figured out, ppl would be able to send you modded patches over the I'net (& data transfer with only mw2 patch = what ? 100MB ?)

any ideas/suggestions/ problems ? Happy
& I know this should be in PS3 exploits or something, but since it's main purpose is to transfer mw2 patch, I thought i'd post it here, since more ppl read this section..
srr if i shouldn't have & feel free to move Smile

wasn't sure where to put it, as it's mainly intended to transfer mw2 patches Smile

dude, we need a real-time connection over VPN, so one ps3 sends out signal & finds other ps3 over VPN within seconds Smile
if we get that going that's one step ahead Smile

i get what your asking, but what ur saying is simply impossible, because the PS3 actually checks for the other end, if it cant find it, it shows a connection failure, try it ur self and see what happens

i thought the same thing.. then I forgot to reconnect the cable (both were still plugged in my switch) & it worked
tried with in the switch only the ps3 (so 2 cables connected)
& tried with 2 ps3 & internet conn (so 3 cables connected)
both worked just fine..
now we have to take this further

Yes we definately should try this out.

your talking about editing algorithms? good luck with that

Why doesn't anyone understand there is no editing algorithms there is no modifying the ps3 to send different code or anything. This is simply doing a data transfer over LAN. Using a program like Hamchi or similar tricks the computers into thinking there on the same network should be just as easy for another ps3 to connect.

if only YOU would've tried this, you'd know that you can data transfer over LAN..
yes exactly, you don't need to plug both ends of the cable in ps3, just attach it to a switch or w/e.. just make sure there's no NAT between, of course..

so before you're gonna start saying it's impossible, TRY !
the only thing that MIGHT hold us back is that the ps3 notices the transfer speed it too low for LAN, so it shuts down..

i have a small understanding of it

you know how u get LAN on games but can only connect if someone has there ethernet cable/wireless router connected to your ps3 (both ps3's have to be connected. But VPN is online but its tricking it to be a LAN game not Online

idno how else to explain it ... i think ive confused myself with what i jus said sorry Happy

An Actual Definition i found : A VPN creates an encrypted virtual tunnel over the Internet from your company to the DMV to allow for the sending and receiving of files in a secure manner to prevent hackers from obtaining sensitive data. (That makes if even more confusing)

Basically all VPN is a virtual private network. < lol but what I'm saying is somebody could be in 1 place and connect to another guy in another place and it creates a virtual LAN like there side by side connected. if that makes sense
