(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); SORRY ABOUT TITLE, IS MISLEADING.. I MEANT DATA TRANSFER FROM ONE PS3 TO ANOTHER USING THE INTERNET & SOFTWARE Smile

okay..
so it's well known, you use data transfer to get a modded patch on an up-to-date system..
but i started thinking, since there's a lot of ppl who want to get a modded patch on a 3.50 system by sending their ps3 to someone who has a JB..
Xlink Kai tricks the ps3 into thinking there's other ps3 in LAN
If we could 'exploit' this connection/do something similar to transfer the patch over VPN to someone else who is connected the same way..
I'd try this myself, but my shitty router won't allow me to open any ports on my wireless connection :(

so in short, i wanna try this

PS3 3.41 ==> PC ~~~ VPN/I'net ~~~ PC ==> PS3 3.50
& for the VPN maybe we could use Xlink somehow (or parts of it?)

if this gets figured out, ppl would be able to send you modded patches over the I'net (& data transfer with only mw2 patch = what ? 100MB ?)

any ideas/suggestions/ problems ? Happy
& I know this should be in PS3 exploits or something, but since it's main purpose is to transfer mw2 patch, I thought i'd post it here, since more ppl read this section..
srr if i shouldn't have & feel free to move Smile

PC ==> PS3 3.50
Most important part, but idk if a Program on the PC can install you .pkg Patches..

exactly. If we can figure that part, in theory, we wouldnt need another PS3. Installing .ff files to a PS3 that is connected through xlink kai, or something similar, into tricking the PS3.

Just a thought.. or a facepalm.. il let you decide. :p

no, i think you don't get what i mean..
the pc is used as a gateway to connect the 2 ps3s who can be across the globe Smile
the VPN would be the ethernet cable between the 2

attach ps3 to pc with ethernet cable
forward what ethernet port receives to VPN software
on other pc receive this data & stream to other ps3

get it ??
so pc is only used to 'connect' the 2 ps3 systems..

ROLL TIDE!!!
You need FTP or file manager. The .FF is inside of the PKG so to instlal just a FF you have o see inside of the PKG.

And downloading a PKG from the internet wont work because it is not signed right, so you will get an error on it.

why does nobody get what i mean.. xD

PS3 3.41 with modded patch ==> PC Ethernet Port
pc is connected to i'net & set up to use VPN
second pc (somewhere else) uses same VPN, finds other pc over "LAN"
PS3 3.50 connected to ethernet port pc2

data transfer from 3.41 to 3.50 but instead of linking them with a regular ethernet cable, try to send the data over the internet to a 2nd ps3 which receives..
this COULD be a way to get modded patches on 3.50 ps3 for ppl who don't have access to JB Smile

you get what i mean ?
srr if i didn't explain clearly Smile

Yes I do.

Look think about it like this.

You are able to install the .ff on jailbreak (unsigned) beacuse that is what jailbreak does. allows you to run some unsigned code.

You can put it on another ps3 by data transfer becuase data transfer does a 100% copy.

A modded patch is a .FF. How are you going to get the .PKG? I don't konw any way there is.
BUT

Even if you could. It wouldn't be Signed. So it would just error out.

Trust me. I have tried this long before jailbreak came out.

It is the same as takeing the PKG and editing yourself. Then install it, won't work.

It is the same as putting o jailbreak modding and then trying to install straight to another ps3

I know that was bad explination but I hope you understood

A modded pacth == .FF not PKG, but ifyou could get PKG still don't matter cause it isn't signed right.

(Sometimes i just ramble lol sorry)

No it wouldn't 3.41 -> PC (Impossible but even if you ahd a emulator that would make your pc a ps3 ok....)

There would be a block to go PC -> PS3

Get a emulator first and play a ps3 game on a pc, then go from there til you at that point there isn't nothing going on from this.....
