Online play was patched a while back.

You cannot go online on 3.41, but if you get PSJailbreak or E3 reader you can update to 3.50 play online than downgrade to 3.41 to do hacks.

People did get banned as Sony could see there logs and they saw people using unsigned programs and banned them, but only a small percentage. You best bet is to clear your log before updating to 3.50

you can get banned if you download too many things for free. map packs, avatars, etc. they can see that u did that once you transfer to 3.50.

Ok first of all good questions 2nd of all when you back up your games if you still could go online with 3.41 the game would show up different like someone else was saying about logs when you play the game online with back up it shows up different and play station can reconize it. ALso what i recommend doing is having 2 ps3 one on 3.41 one on 3.50 then you just put your hacks on your 3.41 once you see it what you want just do a data transfer to your 3.50 and there you go play online with know problem. As for getting banned uhhh im not sure im surpirsed im not banned already for all the modding i do online :whistle: but i dont think you will good luck! rep if i helped
