I cannot answer that question for you as it all depends on what you want to do. If you have only 1 ps3 and want/need to play online then update.
Know one knows for sure what 3.55 patched and what it didn't. All we know is the modified 3.41 PUP file now no longer works.

I have one Ps3 and I have not needed to play online
