Download the 3.41 firmware
Open it in HxD
Find=>Replace 3.41 to 3.50
Copy onto USB
System update from USB on PS3.

I can confirm it does detect the firmware, but I have not done the "Update to 3.41" Yet because i've been busy.

Try it. Smile

And do not be saying any crap about Signing it. We have the PS3 Masterkey, let's do it ourselves. Smile

It didn't work for me, I've already tried this in the past and it still doesn't work... [It does detect the update as 3.50, but it will give an error when trying to install] hopefully someone (you maybe?) will find a way to do this if possible.

More than likely there is an error because we need to re-sign the edited PUP file. Get the PS3 Masterkey lurking around here and try it. Smile

Well you could change the 3.50 to 3.55 if you wish inside when you are Hex-Editing, but I would imagine so if you do the DNS IP trick.

I have a 3.50 ps3..
I got all of this, but only thing is Find=>Replace 3.41 to 3.50
Actually how should I replace it?

Download 3.50 and copy all 3.41 file into 3.50 and saving again?

No, inside HxD, Go to find at the top then hit replace
type 3.41 and replace with 3.50.

To "update to 3.41" as you put it (lol) would you not download an older FW eg 3.21 so that you could upgrade back to real 3.41? Also I am interested in knowing how to sign it with the master key

Anyway I thought it has to be done on a develpoment board not just any old USB stick?
