(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); If they wanted to, all they had to do was patch the ability to get out of Factory/Service mode and there you go. So we have to wait a bit longer for another loop hole to be found. Big deal. just be happy you haven't locked up your console in Factory/Service mode. Sony sucks, I'll be the first to say that straight to them, but they hadn't stopped anyone yet!

My biggest complaint is that they removed the OtherOS option from my fat boy. I had ubuntu installed on my box and it nuked my install.

Granted I rarely used it, but the cool factor was definitely there. Would love for them to allow us to play games from the HD as well, even if its like the original versions of Data Backup where you had to have the original in the drive.

Im all for that. The Linux install was definitely a plus, now its just a run of the mill console. It has nothing to really stand out. Also the ability to play games from the HDD would be great. Sony won't allow it though. It would be considered a "security issue"

Yeah, everything seems to be a "security issue" with them. How hard is it though to support the playback of a title so long as the system can periodically query the blu-ray drive to verify the original is still there...
