Ok guys listen up i know there already is tutorials on this but the other 1's sway more towards the iPhone and using Bootlace this tut is for users who have jailbroken their PS3's before using an iPod and installed OpeniBoot via Ubuntu if you don't know how to do this please view my thread on it You must login or register to view this content.
So anyways on with the tutorial
Step 1: Download the Downgrade files from You must login or register to view this content.
Step 2:You need to access your ipod's var folder to do this we use WinSCP download You must login or register to view this content.to access the var folder make sure your ipod is connected to the internet (wi-fi) and then open WinSCP get the IP for your iPods network by going to network settings and hitting the blue arrow which is located beside the name of the network your connected to then type that in WinSCP then you will need the User name which is root and the password which is alpine and you want the connection type to be SCP then go ahead and click connect you will get an error but thats normal it should still connect fine then get the android image and the zImage and place in the Var folder then select both off them right click and go to properties and change the permission to 777 once this is done the ipod part is all good
Step 3:Next thing we need to do is put the Moded 3.41 FW and the LvDiag.self file in the root of a normal USB pen to do this just put them in a blank USB not in any folders or anything just in the root now we're all ready to begin the downgrade
Step 4: Ok so this is the step where the actual downgrading process begins so what you need to do is turn the PS3 off if its phat then turn the power switch on the back off,if its slim then remove the power cable.When this is done plug the iPod into the Ps3 and turn it on when OpeniBoot appears select Android then press the home button.Now straight away you need to either flip on the power switch (phat) or plug in the power cord (slim) then when you see the line of coding on the iPod that says Device_wait_Ready hit power then eject.Now the PS3 should turn on but boot to a black screen then after a few moments turn off again then unplug the iPod and check to make sure its in service mode by turning it on if you were succeed in getting it into service mode then power off again.
Step 5:Now plug in the USB pen to the farthest port on your console either the 2nd one or the 4th one now turn the PS3 on it will boot to a black screen but the HDD light will be flashing this means its downgrading,wait for the light to go red again (the ps3 turns off!)and unplug the USB then turn the console on again and check to see if its on 3.41 FW If so turn the console off again and go back to the PC.
Step 6: Now what we do is remove the Modded FW and the LvDiag.self file from the USB and put the other LvDiag.self file in the root of the usb.
Step 7: Now we plug the USB into the same port as we had it before then turn the PS3 on and it should boot to a black screen then turn off again after a few moments.Now finally turn the PS3 back on and you should be out of Service mode and on 3.41

ALTHOUGH THE PS3 IS NOW DOWNGRADED WE STILL NEED TO JB SO TO DO THIS WE :
Just replace the downgrade android file and the zImage in our iPods var folder with the normal JB 1's and then just follow the normal JB Process
