it took me nearly 1 hour i was just copying the update over and i couldnt even find the update cos sony removed it from their website and i finally got it but it wouldnt work
so what you have to do when you download the .pup is go to your usb make a folder called PS3 Then inside that called UPDATE Then paste the file in update (UPDATE AND PS3 are case sensitive even if you have uPDATE it will not work )

Hey guys right the upgrading is simple. I done it yesterday apart from i accidently ripped my blue ray off and now it totally broken until the new one arrives.

Download the 3.41 firmware (i dled yesterday works fine.) here:

Plug usb in :

Make folder PS3 then make a folder inside that UPDATE

inside the update folder put the PS3UPDAT.PUP inside that UPDATE folder.

Take the usb out and plug into the ps3

When the usb shows up on the ps3 go to

SETTINGS > SYSTEM UPDATE > UPDATE VIA STORAGE MEDIA

It should then say install 3.41 click ok

You have now installed your 3.41 firmware after the install is done.
