Post: CFW 3.55 BUG WARNiNG/ How to Revert Back
01-05-2011, 03:42 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); PLEASE NOTE THAT ISSUES ARE RESOLVED IN CFW 1.1 with e new Script, HOWEVER IF YOU WANT TO REVERT BACK REFER TO THE GUIDE BELOW
I WILL CONTINUE TESTING FOR OTHER BUGS

The following were found in CFW 3.55 Version 1.1 (THEY ARE ALREADY FIXED)
New version Resolves these issues
Can be found here: You must login or register to view this content.
As some of you are aware the first PS3 CFW has arrived which could be good for the hacking community, HOWEVER though feature are added through this, this actually takes away some as well.

Note the following are missing (hidden) from the PS3
-Data Utility
-SAVE DATA
-PS2/PS1/MINIS SAVE DATA
-Anything Under GAME IS MISSING

So Download at Your own risk, although Gamesave still work there is no way of backing them up the easy way (FTP once it gets sign), same with game utilities, you install no way of unistalling them. Although i Formated my system prior to this the option were still there and other users on other forums are reporting (nonformated) that there options are missing aswell.

Anyway just wanted to test this out for some of you guys, I would hold off for a bit before you download this so that fixes can be applied.
I will continue my testing.
Please report any bugs so i can edit the post an add them.
Also this is more of a Proof of concept that the idea works

Nice work Nitro. Yea I just figured out how to boot it in recovery. I was unaware this feature existed. This is good news. Smile I will suggest that anyone who tries this they make a backup of all their gamesaves and data. Unless, the just reappear after the revert to 3.55 ofw?

well i had no save prior to this, but when i tested God of war it made a save (hidden).

The save is also there when i went back So i am guessing it will be there still. Only the option is hidden when you CFW the save are still stored

Okay so much like the beginning stages of the psp exploit the official XMB game menu is overlapped with the install pkg folder and from what NitroWolf is saying, the data before the cfw install remains after reverting back to 3.55 OFW. So really there is no downfall to trying this.

Giving it a shot now. Loading up my dual boot to test my own little 'hello world' fun. Thanks for the heads up Nitro! Happy

i am betting it's all the time. Like Ice Cream Man said, it's like PSP beginning hack where it would just overlay the options, but they are not really gone.
Don't worry this will be fixed in the future real soon, expect some PSP CFW team to begin working on PS3 now.

I don't have time to retest it right now to make sure, but like i said i am sure it's all the time.
