Post: Update to 3.55 CFW from 3.55 OFW

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I know that to update to 3.55 CFW from 3.41, you can just plug her in, and update. What about 3.55 OFW to 3.55 CFW? I herd that to do this, you have to put the ps3 in factory service mode, and then 3.55 will update off of usb. Can somebody confirm this, or is it not possible yet for an unhacked 3.55?

no you dont need to put the ps3 into factory service mode. just put it on a USB. just rename it PS3UPDAT.PUP

u can just put the custom FW on a usb, rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP and the ps3 will find it and ask if u want to overwrite the firmware cuz its the same version.

thanks, but i already have the CFW on my ps3. i was just trying to help the person who posted. but thanks lol
